​It provides funding to teach classics in state primary and secondary schools .


​It believes Classical subjects are a vital foundation for a modern education.

What is the Livepool Classics Hub ?












 

The Liverpool Classics Hub aims to:


increase the number of primary and secondary schools in Liverpool offering Latin, Greek, Ancient History and Classical Civilization, expanding the opportunities available to all children in the city.


increase the number of teachers qualified to teach classics in state schools.

provide additional training to existing teachers.


give ongoing support to  those teaching classics in the city.


develop a social media strategy to promote our work, and that of our partners.








The Liverpool Classics Hub was set up in October 2016, with a grant from Classics for All, to co-ordinate the efforts of Liverpool schools, the University of Liverpool and Classics for All to expand opportunities for pupils across Liverpool to study Latin, Greek, ancient history, archaeology and classical civilization.


The Hub is based at Liverpool College and will offer a focal point for organizing training, marketing the offerings of the Hub to schools and policy makers, and performing the administrative functions needed for the project to succeed.


The Hub is overseen by an advisory board made up of representatives from The University of Liverpool, The Liverpool Learning Partnership and Liverpool College.
